Biometric security

-What you know about the topic before your research
I really dont know anything about this topic I look forward of learning about it.
-What you wonder or questions you have about the topic before researching (at least 2)
Is it safe ( is it difficult to fake) , Do they only use it for security?
and What is biometric?
-Links to where you found the most useful information (at least 2, NOT Wikipedia, although you can use it to help you)

-Bullet list of things you learned about the topic (at least 5)
  1. In biometric security they use physical characterstics like fingerprints, hands and eyes to identify a person.
  2. They do it with something that wont change ( thats constant) like fingerprints and thats difficult to copy.
  3. types of biometric security:  Face Recognition biometrics security, Fingerprint Identification, Hand Geometry biometrics security, Retina Scan, Iris Scan, Signature biometrics security, Voice Analysis
  4. None ofthem is considered the "best one" it depends on what your going to use it for.
  5.  they think that in the future computers could have a fingerprint scanner where you could place your  finger and it will recognize you and log you in.
  6.  Fingerprint identification has the problem that it requires clean hands in order to work.
  7. finger print identification is the most common.

College Exploration on Naviance

TO DO
1. log into your blog and open a new post titled College Exploration on Naviance
2. Label it College/Career
3. Go to College and Career--Useful Links page and click on Naviance link
4. Log into your account on Naviance and go to the college tab
5. On your blog write two colleges that interest you that you know about right now.
I dont know.
6. Go on Naviance, click on the COLLEGE tab, and using the college super match option, click your preferences on the list on the left side of the page (if you don't know the answer to something, leave it blank) and find two colleges you have never heard of but that interest you and write those on your blog.
Julliard

7. Choose 7 areas about college life that interest you or matter to you that you will research about each college (I.E. cost, does it have ____ major, what is the weather, what special programs do they have for foreign students, ....)
Campus,  people size, teams. location, GPA, cost,

8. Make a chart on your blog showing the information you found in all 7 areas for each college. It should look like this...(obviously yours will have the college names, the actual areas you chose and real details comparing them...)
Julliard    ColumbiaEmerson collage University of chicago

Graduation rate                              93%                80%              93%
9. Write your GPA on your blog from first quarter. Now, list under that, the average GPA needed to get into all 4 of those colleges with the college name next to each. Where do you stand?
quarter 1 3.4 gpa

10. If you have time, continue to explore colleges on Naviance until Ms. Shawn says to stop.

11. When Ms. Shawn tells you, summarize what you learned from this experience and tell how it will affect your habits as a student.
it affected me because I realized that theres a huge compeence and that a lot of collages ask for a high gpa but theres some other that the gpa is lower and are still very good schools.
